In this part of the halakha of Ani Judaism (formerly Lapid Judaism) series Christopher talks about the levels of observance and the conversion process and how it has been arranged in Judaism for thousands of years. Some have tried to scam people by saying they do "online conversions" yet Judaism has never done this because the key aspects of the conversion process cannot be done online.
During this time of the national quarantine you see stories all over the news and social media of churches and other places of worship staying open during the quarantine. Is this what believers should be doing? Are these pastors and leaders really following the G-d of Israel?
At the beginning of this teaching Christopher gives an announcement about the name change of Lapid Judaism International to Ani Judaism International and the constant struggles with "Rabbi" Mordecai Griffin trying to form an illegitimate form of Lapid Judaism that caused the name change.
In this teaching Christopher investigates the story in John 9 of Yeshua healing the blind man. In this teaching Christopher shows through the book of Genesis in the Masoretic text how Rabbinic language is used in the Aramaic of the Khabouris Codex, Yonan Codex and Houghton 1199 Codex in relation to this story and the midrashing parallels to the concepts through language discussed in Genesis 1-2.
In the final installment of the "Beginning Torah Observance Responsibly" series Christopher discusses how to pick up the Torah and crawl.....not run. Christopher discusses how to do this responsibly and to fulfill commandments for the sake of Hashem and the danger of defiling commandments by running and the stress it starts and how to avoid that stress and confusion.
In this episode Christopher discusses some more red flags many should watch out for when starting to pursue the Torah of G-d. In this episode Christopher discusses extra-biblical books, as well as understanding Paul and the issue that cause some to reject the apostle Paul and what that does to a person down the line. Christopher also discusses how to find good scholarship and the idea surrounding radial and bilateral ecclesiology. Next week Christopher gets into observance in the realms of where to start.
In the 2nd part of this series Christopher discusses some of the red flags to look out for in your walk in the Torah of the Messiah. First he discusses how to approach scholarship and how it is ok and should be encouraged to look at both Christian and Jewish scholars. He also discusses how young zealots can lead many astray because of their misplaced zealousness. Christopher also stresses that one should not put on a false persona, though that is the norm one should grasp their own Nishmat Chayim. Christopher also discusses the whole Bible translation thing that is often brought up about ditching your Christian bible for another one and how this tends to lead people down a destructive path. Christopher wraps it up with discussing the psychological effect we see from the "prophecy crowd" and how they can hinder one's progression in their new found observance.
This series is for those who are wanting to start pursuing the Torah of Hashem while holding tight to their belief in Yeshua being the Messiah. In Part 1 of this series Christopher focuses on the concept of "slow and steady wins the race" and he shares parts of his personal progression through his walk since starting to pursue the Torah 16 years ago. Christopher's goal in this series is to help people starting out to not make the same mistakes he did through the years and how to walk responsibly in an edifying manner.
In this teaching Christopher discusses the concept of Nura (Aramaic) and Or (Hebrew) meaning "light", what does it mean to be "light"? Also in the readings of Matthew 5:13-20 Christopher discusses the concept of Torah Observance.
In this teaching Christopher discusses the Urim and Tummim of the priestly garment in Torah Portion Tetzaveh. The Hebrew of the words Urim and Tummim give us some great insight as well as the words of the Rambam in relation to Moshiach Ben David. Also in the same verses we see how the tallis katan became common within Judaism.
