Torah Portion Readings:
Torah: Genesis 28:10–32:3(2),
HafTarah: Hosea 12:13(12)–14:10(9),
Brit Chadasha: Matthew 3:13–4:11
Christopher focuses on why the parshas notes Ya'akov leaving one land and going to another, when fewer words could have been used. According to Rashi, it is noted because of the implications a tzadik has on town. Christopher also explains the attributes of tzadikim from this vantage point. He also discusses how the Messiah, Yeshua is revealed in this Torah Portion from a quote from the Chayim v'Shalom that is not often discussed in this parshas (the one often noted as a shadow of the Messiah is, Ya'akov's ladder). He also discusses why it is that Ya'akov wept for Rachel.
