At Nazarene Media we have accomplished a lot the past 5 years.  In the past 5 years we started the most listened to Netzari Jewish radio station on the Internet (averaging 140,000 unique listeners every week based upon unique IP addresses), we have started the first Hebrew Roots only podcast server known as YeshuaCast.  We started a free PDF eBook database with over 150 titles and collections.  I am happy to announce that our newest project is going to blow all of those out of the water and I am excited beyond measure. 4 years ago I cut the cable and purchased a Roku box solely because it allows me to watch Netflix on my TV.  Since that time thousands of channels have been created by developers and companies because they have found the Roku to be one of the most popular new pieces of technology.  Thousands of channels and lots of searching I was surprised there was not a single Roku on-demand channel that plays the weekly torah portions.  No Netzari channels exist, no orthodox channels provide torah portion commentary and none of the overly hyped two house channels provide weekly torah portion commentary.  Well it is time to kick in the doors.  Nazarene Media is proud to announce the very first Roku channel that has weekly Torah portion teachings from your favorite and most trusted commentators every single week.  AND IT IS FREE!!  Not only that but I was looking at the possibilities of creating this Roku channel and and decided to utilize everything that the channel has to offer.  And at the bottom of this article you can be a BETA tester and test drive the channel.  What all does this channel have to offer?

Weekly Torah Portion Teachings:  every week this section of the channel will be updated with various teachings on the torah portion for the week

Last Week's Torah Portion:  every week we will move those teachings to the section of the channel that contains the teachings from the previous week in case you missed them.

PaRDeS Radio: you can play PaRDeS Radio live from the Roku Channel.

Movies (Coming this week):  every week 4-5 new movies will be featured on the Roku channel.  There will be a weekly rotation and these are not small time Biblical movies from a Jewish perspective these are major movies.  Every week movies will be replaced with new ones to keep it fresh and also so we don't use our allotted space every week for hosting the channel and to be able to keep it fresh at the same time.

Documentaries:  oh my you are not gonna believe what we have gotten our hands on for this section, various documentaries on Jewish History and Mashyach Yeshua.

Topical teachings:  we have added topical teachings on various subjects categorized by teacher and both their videos and mp3s are available to watch or listen to on your Roku on your television.

Live Streaming Teachings (Coming Soon): I thought it would be a cool idea to do a weekly half hour teaching every week that will also be archived from the teachings for later viewing.  People can ask questions while they watch the teaching for an extra 15-20 minutes of Q&A and they can watch me answer their questions live in real time.  We could also broadcast live teachings from our other teachers when they are doing a live stream from when they are teaching at congregations.

How To Add The Station for Free
1) Click on this link: https://owner.roku.com/add/TorahPortions
2) It will then ask you to log in to your Roku account, make sure to log in.
3) It asks you if you wish to add the channel to your Roku player, hit yes.
4) If your Roku is on, turn it off then turn it back on as it refreshes the channel list as it does every time it is turn on.
5) Click on the icon on your Roku channel list and enjoy

Keep in mind, we are going to need your help to get this going.  Promoting is going to be a big step.  It is important to test the channel, watch the teachings, let us know what you like and don't like, send us reviews of the functionality and content.  If you like what we are doing then share this article all over social media and let people know about this private channel.  We are also going to ask for help on this matter in a way we hate to ask but we believe in this project and our track record as you all know is pristine.  We are going to need your financial help to maintain this in the first year so we can keep it free for those who cannot afford all the paid channels others are doing.  Here is the breakdown of cost for the entire year we are incurring and need your help with to give you an overview as to accomplishing this:

Roku Channel: $545 per year (we paid for the first month but we would like to lock it in for the whole year)

Storage: We are looking at the possibility of upgrading our Vimeo Plus to Vimeo Pro so our files can be hosted there and linked to the Roku Channel and that costs $199 a year (they don't have a monthly option for Pro only for Plus.

RSS feeds for the teachers videos: we paid the first month of $20 but we can get a whole year at $200 and lock that down.

HD Camera and wireless lapel mic for live teachings:  We know how to stretch a buck, and we know where we can get a HD camera for $50 and a wireless lapel for $120.

LiveStream service:  This is the only service our Roku channel provider can link us to to with proficiency and it is gonna cost $500 a year (I remember back when Live stream was free)

Now some of the other services we are easily able to maintain, as I work my secular job, so like the PaRDeS Radio stream, no need is needed there, nor the equipment we use to record from online I own, the editing materials I own etc.  Most try and start a Roku channel and say they need tens of thousands to sustain it.  But the issue is either they don't know how to find the best deals or maybe they are not being so honest.  The fact is, this station can be sustained and made free for everyone for the first year and be basically the only roku channel you will ever need and we can do it all for 1 year and keep it free to the entire world for only $1,500 approx.  We do not wish to pressure anyone to help, because that is not edifying and that is not honest.  But if you feel that Hashem is asking you to help in this matter than do what it is Hashem tells you and not what I say. To donate to the channel to make this happen click on the home page of www.NazareneMedia.net and click our paypal button and make a donation.  I pray you all enjoy the channel.
